As a Dynamics NAV Design Specialist, you will work with a Project Manager, Implementers, and Developers in gaining an understanding of the client’s business requirements and the customizing a NAV database to meet their needs. Design Specialists are charged with capturing and documenting business requirements that pertain to the customization of the ERP system and mapping to the recommended customized NAV solution.
Specifically, in the capacity of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) Developer, you will;
• Gain conceptual and detailed understanding of clients’ business models and order flows, proposes means by which NAV system will be configured to mirror model
• Bring knowledge of industry best practices as appropriate
• Conduct design meetings with clients on new implementations of NAV. Translate client requirements into design requirements document.
• Supervise write up of technical aspects of Project Implementation Document
• Work with client to identify substantive risks of implementation. Proposes options to mitigate risks, with recommendations.
• Review PID with, and provides ongoing guidance to Project Manager, Implementer & Developers
• Remain available to client and SCS resources for ongoing discussions
• Review design document with client and update and complete
• Review Senior Developer hours estimates for reasonableness
• Ensure knowledge transfer of design to project team
• Assist with pre-sales demos
Travel required up to 30% to client sites in western states (primarily Northern and Southern California) to periodically meet with clients for design / follow-up sessions.
Qualifications:
• 3 yrs experience as Design Consultant
• Certified in MS NAV Financial Management and selective industry
• Graduate degree from 4 year university
• Advanced degrees (Masters &/or MBA), and /or CPA
• Subject Matter Expert with 10+ years of management experience in industry and / or 5+ years with national consulting firm
• Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently
• Ability to get questions answered and to handle questions correctly.
• Ability to handle a client and keep a client happy and comfortable with the design process
• Ability to write professionally and clearly with correct grammar
• Ability to conduct meetings and direct attention of members
• Thorough and deep understanding of Dynamics NAV
• Ability to write technical specifications for developers
• Thorough understanding of database structure of NAV
