Thermal Printing Company Number One Choice In U.S. Gaming Industry

If you have been in any of the more sophisticated casinos in the U.S., chances are you have been spending your money with one of FutureLogic’s customers.

FutureLogic, a custom engineering technology solutions company, develops mother and daughterboards, but specializes in thermal printing devices. Their solutions, Tamper-Resistant Tickettm and Intelligent Ticket Handlingtm, are widely used in cashless gaming machines throughout the U.S.

With a whopping 90% market share in the U.S. gaming industry, FutureLogic’s reach is still growing! In the coming year, FutureLogic has plans to expand with these products into the UK and Australian markets. Additionally, FutureLogic will be extending the reach of its technologies into new areas, such as the medical and parking industries.

SCS recently spoke with Jon Huntley, FutureLogic CFO, about their decision to go with Navision and their implementation experience with SCS.

“We were running two separate systems,” he began. “We had a manufacturing system and a financial system, which meant duplicate entries all over the place,” Jon Huntley commented. “Additionally, FutureLogic has experienced rapid

growth over the past two years – nearly doubling our revenues. To meet this growth in volume, we had to get a complete ERP system in place; one that allowed us to spend more time reviewing, refining and managing processes as opposed to carrying them out.”

FutureLogic thoroughly reviewed six products during their selection process and narrowed it down to a final two: MAS 500 and Navision. A committee of 12, which included some of the key users, selected Navision hands down.

There were several areas where Navision excelled. FutureLogic was particularly impressed with the system’s flexibility in the way they could customize packing and shipping requirements. They have also realized a great deal of value in using dimensions in Navision to maximize the use of their data.

The SCS implementation went so well, delivering the solution on time and under budget, that plans are already underway for phase II, originally not scheduled until sometime next year. “We have never gone down and no errant postings, none of the common implementation problems,” said Jon. “[SCS Project Manager] Robert James is amazing. He knows Navision and business processes so well that he really got our staff excited about the solution.”

Navision has decreased the workload in FutureLogic’s accounting and inventory departments by half, and provided significantly better information and control for the entire company. “In Navision we have a sophisticated ERP for our dynamic and rapidly expanding company,” commented Jon Huntley.
