New Navision General Manager Raises Excitement for Navision 4.0 and Beyond

Mogens Elsberg, the newly appointed Navision General Manager, presided over the Navision General Session at Convergence earlier this month. In his address to Navision customers worldwide, he provided updates on Navision’s progress and worldwide growth.

“There are more than 45,000 Navision customers,” noted Mogens. He went on to add that “the U.S. is quickly becoming the country with the largest Navision install base in the world.” At the current adoption rate, this should happen within the next six months.

Along with the internal high praise for Navision 4.0, Mogens provided several independent Industry Analyst accolades and awards given to this latest version of Navision.

In particular, Mogens Elsberg highlighted and demonstrated the new User Interface in Navision 4.0 with its Microsoft Outlook look and feel that allows individual users to easily customize their menus, create shortcuts to regularly used forms and reports, as well as links to frequently visited websites and their e-mail right on their main menu screen.

Some of the other features mentioned included the new Gantt chart for visual representation and scheduling of production resources and the Employee Portal, which uses SharePoint technology to grant access to designated parts of Navision based on permissions to users via any web browser.
