Kögun hf. acquires SCS, Inc.
Kögun hf., Iceland’s foremost IT corporation (ICEX: KOGN), has acquired SCS, Inc., one of the largest Microsoft Dynamics™ NAV/AX (formerly Microsoft Business Solutions Navision and Axapta) partners in the U.S., through their subsidiary Kögun USA, Inc.
The acquisition, which will maintain all key customers and relationships, creates tremendous synergy and positions Kögun as one of the top five Microsoft Dynamics partners globally with a comprehensive international presence.
SCS was founded by Helen Russell 26 years ago and has had consistent and continuing growth. SCS maintains full service offices in the heart of Silicon Valley as well as Santa Monica, California. SCS has a customer base that spans regional, national and international geographies and includes many well-known companies within the entertainment industry.
SCS’s CEO, Helen Russell, is former President of the Software Council and has served on its board for 10 years.
“This is an exciting alliance which provides tremendous opportunities for SCS’s existing customers and personnel, and increases the number of revenue growth and sales opportunities by providing a true international presence,” states Helen Russell. “Kögun and its entire team exhibit spectacular knowledge and business acumen and with other Kögun companies, including the Microsoft Gold Certified Solutions Partners Hands in Norway and Landsteinar Strengur in Iceland (designated Microsoft’s Global ISV Partner of the Year 2005), I believe this forms one of the largest and most dominant Microsoft Dynamics Partnerships in the world.”
Kögun’s CEO, Gunnlaugur M. Sigmundsson, adds: “The Kögun Group is extremely happy to have Helen and her team join our rapidly growing global Microsoft Dynamics business. SCS caught our attention because of the company’s excellent track record, consistent performance and proven ability to satisfy its customers for 26 years. SCS showed its visionary approach by being a very early adopter of the Dynamics NAV solution (then Navision) in the U.S. and has built expertise with Dynamics that we believe is second to none in the country. We see the coupling of SCS’s traction in the U.S. market with Kögun’s resources and global solutions as a winning combination.”
